The Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul Rustington
The Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul Rustington

After having been closed for twelve months from August 2015 while the major building project to 're-order' our church was underway, we returned to the church for our first service in refreshed surroundings on Sunday, 31st July.

In celebration of all that had been achieved in those twelve months of closure, a special service of 'Rededication and Thanksgiving after Refurbishment and Reordering' was held on the 1st Sunday of Advent, 27th November.

The Bishop of Horsham, The Right Reverend Mark Sowerby, presided and preached at that service.  Later in the day the Bishop circulated his reflections on his visit accompanied by a number of photographs which he himself had taken.  His  thoughts, with some of his photos, are reproduced below.

"Celebrated the Eucharist this morning at the newly re-ordered SS Peter & Paul, Rustington with Fr Zachary Allen and the people of his parish. Fizz & cake to celebrate the return to church after a year waiting.
Really splendid reordering - architecture is allowed to speak for itself again, unhindered by Victorian woodwork. New facilities include accessible WC and store rooms. Very well worth a visit."
